Project overview
Shift Pic is an image resizing and optimizing extension built specifically for web developers and designers.
The extension does all of the hard work for you: you no longer have to figure out which dimensions, image formats and quality settings give the best results. All you have to do is select an image on your website, and choose the image you want to optimize. That's it.
When you select an image on your website, Shift Pic will resize the window to figure out the ideal image dimensions for the different responsive breakpoints. Then, you simply provide your image and Shift Pic will convert, resize and optimize it, giving you web-ready versions of your image for 4K displays, desktops, tablets and mobiles.

Technologies
The front-facing Chrome extension is built with regular HTML, CSS and Javascript, without any frameworks or build steps.
The API backend is built in PHP, and uses a multitude of image processing scripts, librairies and softwares.
FastSpring is used as a merchant of records for Shift Pic: it handles all of the subscription payment logic and legalities.
